The tournament director in the football association, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay has told a cross-section of the press that a total of 179 matches will be played in this year’s FA Cup, which is expected to kick-off on Sunday February 9th 2014 at the Coronation Field in Bo.

He stated that 170 teams will participate in the competition which comprises of 14 Premier leagues, 56 first-division teams and 100 second division teams.
The first stage, with 5 rounds, will be played between the teams in the first and second divisions.
