The ruling All Peoples Congress led Government of His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has promised to uphold all of its financial commitments towards the success of Sierra Leone’s 2014 Population and Housing Census. The actual counting is slated from 6th to 19th December 2014 but the process itself was launched on Tuesday 11th February 2014 under a theme of: “Be counted for better planning”. Speaking as he officially launched the process, President Koroma affirmed that,
government is fully committed to the process as they have committed to provide over 60% of the funds needed. He maintained that, together with everyone involved in the process including development partners, “we will deliver a census that will stand the test of time”.
